About This Project

The NHS Blood and Transplant team are a vital part of the NHS, encouraging people to help those in need by donating organs, blood, stem cells, and tissues.

They were formed in October 2005 as part of the merger of the National Blood Service and UK Transplant.

The NHS approached us to produce a video app that could be used internally to help train staff members.

Branding, Design & UX

This was a simple app designed to display videos.

How did we build it?

This app was built for iPad using Objective C. Due to the size of the videos, which had been extracted from DVDs, we had to compress the files and upload via a robust backend, sending the file to the iPad app through an API.

Where are they now?

The NHS app is an enterprise product distributed through their private network and is therefore not available as a public product on iTunes.

The app however has been widely distributed internally and well received.
